Our church continues to expand its commitment to mission locally and around the world. In 2008 we collected $1000 to purchase 4 PETs (Personal Energy Transportation systems) for people in third world countries who have lost the use of their legs. We have a covenant relationship with a United Methodist Church in Mozambique and are supporting the Nothing but Nets campaign to raise money for mosquito nets in malaria-plagued areas. In 2009
we collected over $1000 for construction of
churches in the Mozambique conference.
Of course we also support local projects, such as the Good Samaritan Center in Excelsior Springs and other
agencies through special
offerings and our district
and conference apportionments.
